As the technology continues to evolve and as materials improve for these processes, DDM will provide certain competition for conventional manufacturing. In fact, to help facilitate that trend, Stratasys specifically developed a process for RedEye called Ready Part. This part smoothing process virtually eliminates the need for finishing methods, such as sanding and prepares parts for post-finishing processes, such as painting and plating.
